Atlantic Broadband extends COVID-19 customer pledge

Atlantic Broadband, the nation’s eighth-largest cable operator, announced that it will extend its support of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) “Keep Americans Connected” pledge until June 30 to ensure that customers impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak will have access to vital services.

Atlantic Broadband, the nation’s eighth-largest cable operator, is working to ensure that its customers and the public have access to the internet during the COVID-19 outbreak. New services include Atlantic Broadband Business Assist: For Atlantic Broadband business customers that want to supply at home workers with voice and internet services, the company is also introducing a new “Atlantic Broadband Business Assist Package” which includes 50 Mbps High Speed Internet, a modem, a Hosted Voice Seat, and a Polycom Phone (or equivalent). It is being offered on a temporary basis at the discounted rate of $29.99 (a savings of approximately $100/month off standard prices).
Atlantic Broadband teams with Altaworx on 4G backup service

QUINCY, Mass. – Atlantic Broadband, the nation's eighth-largest cable operator, today announced the availability of 4G LTE backup service for its business internet customers. Supported by Altaworx, which aggregates services from two leading nationwide wireless networks, the service enhances reliability by protecting against internet interruptions. With the addition of the backup service, Atlantic Broadband's internet service now offers a 99.9% uptime commitment through Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Atlantic Broadband announced on Thursday that it's offering 10-Gigabit, fiber-based speeds to business customers in parts of its footprint. Atlantic Broadband, which is owned by Cogeco and is the eighth-largest cable operator in the U.S., is offering the 10-Gig service in Western Pennsylvania, Rochester, New Hampshire and Southern Maine. Atlantic Broadband plans to roll out the service in the company’s Belmont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware and Florida service areas.
Atlantic Broadband Launches 10 Gig Services, with More to Come

Atlantic Broadband today announced an aggressive rollout of its symmetrical 10 gig fiber service. The company, which claims to be the eighth largest cable operator in the nation, said that the service now is available to customers in western Pennsylvania; Rochester, N.H.; and southern Maine service areas. It will become available this spring in Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware and Florida.
Atlantic Broadband to buy Thames Valley Communications

Groton — Atlantic Broadband announced that it will buy Thames Valley Communications for $50 million, a step the company said will allow it to reach about 10,000 new customers east of the Thames River. Atlantic Broadband operates in New London, Waterford, East Lyme, Montville, Griswold, Killingly, Plainfield, Sterling and Putnam, while TVC operates in Groton, Mystic, Stonington, Pawcatuck and Gales Ferry. Andrew Walton, a spokesman for Atlantic Broadband, said the deal makes sense as the two companies have adjacent territories in similar markets in southeastern Connecticut. He said Thames Valley has strong local operations in the region, quality infrastructure, and a commitment to southeastern Connecticut, qualities that Atlantic Broadband shares.

Local, state and federal government representatives met in King William Thursday to celebrate the long-awaited activations giving citizens access to high-speed internet, phone and cable services in parts of King William, King and Queen and Caroline counties. Bringing internet services to the county has been a two and half year process that will benefit the county, King William Board of Supervisor-elect and King William Internet Connectivity Chairmen Ed Moren said.
