DWDM & Optical Network Engineer II
The DWDM & Optical Network Engineer II is responsible for assisting with the design, implementation and support of a 24x7x365, mission critical service provider Optical and DWDM network for Internet, Phone and Video for Atlantic Broadband. This includes the day-to-day operation of JDSU P5000i Digital Analysis Microscope and FiberChekPRO Analysis Software, as well as the day-to-day provisioning, operation and support of Fujitsu FLASHWAVE 7420, Cisco ONS and Ciena DWDM platforms including provisioning of new circuits and service. The Network Engineer is responsible for assisting with the design, implementation and support of a 24x7x365, mission critical service provider Ethernet and IP network for Internet, Phone and Video for Atlantic Broadband. This position is responsible for the day to day configuration and operation of Extreme (Brocade) carrier enterprise class switches and routers (including SX and MLXe), Cisco switches and routers (including 7600 and ASR), Juniper firewalls (including ScreenOS and JunOS based models), PulseSecure MAG VPN Appliances, and multicast video network environments. This position will also assist with the design, installation and configuration of complete network infrastructures, act as an escalation resource during outages and troubleshoots, provide professional support to customers, and other duties as required. Network Operations Center Technician
Under general supervision, the Network Operations Center Technician monitors Atlantic Broadband switching, digital, optical and associated telecommunications equipment and provides a single point of contact for outages and issues. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate records in a variety of tracking resources, escalating network problems both internally and externally, working with customers, engineers, vendors and technicians to resolve trouble reports, and other duties as assigned. The Network Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operations of Atlantic Broadband’s High speed data, voice and advanced digital services. This position will also support our Tier II call center, commercial escalations and CT office IT office support. Other responsibilities include installing and supporting hosted PBX customers, assisting in commercial fiber deployments, assisting network engineers during optical, network and video upgrades, supporting internal Atlantic Broadband IT and telephony office support, and other duties as assigned. Regional Headend Manager
The Regional Headend Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily job functions of Headend Technicians and Engineers, and the daily operations of Atlantic Broadband headends and hubs in Pennsylvania, Western Maryland, West Virginia and New York. Establishes performance goals and monitors progress through coaching, mentoring, and career development. Assists in the planning and implementation of new product introductions. Interprets, maintains, and installs network management systems. Leads assigned projects and ensures that they are finished on time and in adherence to the budget. The position is also responsible for critical facilities management, including standby generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS’s), DC power plants, and HVAC equipment in all headends and hubs. The Commercial Account Executive position is a consultative field sales role within our Commercial Bulk Sales team. Individuals in this position are responsible for developing relationships with property management companies, property board of directors, real estate developers, and builders to ensure Video, Internet and Phone provider in residential new build developments, Home Owners Associations and MDU properties in order to secure renewals, incremental new customer, and revenue growth through Bulk agreements. Under general supervision, the Service Technician is responsible for performing field technical work and servicing customer problems; monitoring and repairing signal leakage; trouble shooting, repairing, and maintaining the cable television system; and performing underground and aerial construction duties associated with CATV operations including installation of rigid coaxial cable, and pole line construction within the overhead plant. Current openings in Bradford (PA), Aiken (SC), Warsaw (VA), and Grasonville/Middletown (MD/DE).
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of the plant including the trunk and distribution system. The System Technician must also perform routine maintenance and repairs while providing technical support for the resolution for service related problems. The Systems Engineer is responsible for assisting with the design, development, deployment and architecture of the systems and storage infrastructure at Atlantic Broadband. Responsibilities would include analyzing user and application requirements to determine operating system, storage, memory, and CPU needs for both physical and virtual servers; Assisting with the management of Blade Enclosure and Blade Server firmware, operating system, and application revisions including fault isolation and analysis; Evaluating and analyzing new firmware, operating systems, and application revisions and their applicability to isolated faults and user needs; Assisting with the management of Veritas NetBackup; and other duties as assigned. The Technical Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of service, systems, and senior technicians as assigned. This position is also responsible for all service activities which contribute to customer satisfaction, must be able to satisfactorily resolve customer complaints or problems, and direct activity of service, systems, and senior technicians.
